OK As we said yesterday it appears that the May storms do their damage and the Grand Ole Ore and the Oprey Mills are closed due to the May floods so Lib take the opportunity to do some washing and we stay with the van due to the bloody oppressive humidity. Have a few Buds and watch the waskilly squirrels in the daily escapades. Wish Roger was still here, he would give them some Larry Dooley. We end up going to a couple of shopping centres and replenish stocks. As you can see from the photos we find a national military cemetery and visit the souvenir shops of Dukes of Hazard, { Yee hah} and Willie Nelson. From there we go to the Country Music Museum, which was also very disappointing and I asked the attendant, a nubile racing model why there were no shirts over 2x due to the social habits of Americans and he just shrugged his shoulders, so a decision was made to make tracks for Memphis.
On the way we divert to the home, old home and museum of Lorreta Lynne. OK lets explain this. For the younger visitors Loretta was the "Coal Miners Daughter" a famous country and western singer who was born and raised in Butchers Hollow, Tennesee. Apart from the legend Slim D an absolute favourite of mine. So we divert of the interstate and find her ranch and campground but 45,000 other americans had also found it for the American Moto Cross Nationals, BLOODY UNBELIEVABLE. We have never seen so many RV's motor bikes, golfs club carts and people in the one place at the one time. Dear old girl tells me that this haas been held there for the last 26 years. To see the amount of RV's packed together, each equipped with generators, awnings gazebos, electric fsans and support paraphernalia for each Motor cross rider had to be seen to be believed. I guarantee that each rig also had a golf cart which were zinging around the place in all directions. This was added to the water carts graders and other machinery to support the numerous tracks
Ok explanation for another couple of the photos, we were overtook by a monstrous motor-home and after it was disappearing into the sunset realized it was the legendary BB KING master and creator of blues and rhythm and owner of a number of blues establishments which we would frequent in the next couple of days, Secondly a photo of a back to front ceeement truck.
Last photo shows that we have finally arrived at that place, yes that place and Petal is bouncing up and down in her seat like a kid going to the Royal Eater Show.
