Well off to the Ohio State Fair. Do the washing and off we go. Find it quite easily and find out we can camp with the RV for the princely sum of $30 for power and water.

Park at the instruction of the parking officiado and its off to the fair. Its 11am and things aren’t looking good as we enter the dairy pavilion to be informed that they have run out of ice cream. Oh well we inspect the life size butter models of two current Ohio Buckeye NFL players and its off to the pig pavilion. Lots of different breeds and sizes and we settle in to watch the final of the “walk your pig around the ring without a lead and hit it with a little whippy stick type of thing competition”
Well as you will see by the video if I can attach it it was pretty riveting.

We then leave and on the way out meet Grizzly the Champion of the show for the last umpteen years. Grizzly wasn’t performing apart from airing his private parts in the cool air.
Then we watched old mate carve a parrot out of half a tree with three different sized chainsaws. Lib than inspected the fine arts whilst I located the Pig Races. Once again I hope I can attach the video.
Inspection of local craft and other shite for sale and then we attempt to locate something to eat. This wasn’t difficult because 95% of the Ohio State Fair consisted of food stalls. Anything could be purchased from Chocolate coated bacon ( I kid you not)
to deep fried onion blossoms, deep fired oreos, deep fried peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, deep fired frozen cheesecake etc.


DO you see the common denominator in the previous menu. Lib said she saw a number of interesting animals and they weren’t in cages.
I had a feeling of not fitting in as I felt quite a midget by comparison to the locals both in height in cases but depth and width. I have never seen so many scooter being used by younger people. Lib felt she was anorexic.
After a number of hours we decide it’s time to return to the Luvshack and off we go for a couple of quiet drinks and a nana nap. Apart from talking to our new neighbours who moved in about 10 pm that was it and the day of the Ohio State Fair was over.
