Nothing much planned today so into Intercourse and post a few postcards, then a whip around a covered bridge and got some good photos of them and Amish working in the fiels.
Of we go to get closer to New Jersey to relinquish control of the Luvshack of which we become very fond in the last 30 days. We travel to a campground about 30 miles from the depot and book into a not so flash campground and start to sort out the good from the bad and the ugly in the Luvshack. Lucky we bought the additiomal two bags to transport the fine antiquities that we have acquired in our journey and will no doubt adorn some back shelf in a cupboard on the Ponderosa del a Utungun.
Try to make something eatable from the missmatch that was left then off to bed.
Up early today and final clean then into South Amboy to hand over the reins. Bye Luvshack and grab a lift to Newark airport whcih is the closest they will take us to New York. From there we grabbed a cab to Queens to our motel for the next five night. As I said to the taxi driver, the fare was nearly as much as I paid for a bloody ticket from Sydney to New York Return. $130 in total but at least we didnt lug the manifest we have collected.
As its early Petal and I decide we will start our New York Odessy do we buy to week unlimited tickets for the subway and head into Manhattan. The motel we are in is about 30 to 45 mins ride by subway and between Manhattan and JFK airport. Once in town we attack the Rockerfeller Centre first and was handled with no problems. After that we get completely lost and find ourselves outside the Empire State Building at about 5pm so decide we will go up there and see what its all about. Once we get comitted in the waiting line we are informed we are about 90 mins in the line from the lift. It snakes like a conga line for miles and about 7.15pm we finally het the lift to the 80th floor . From there it is a twenty minute line for the final lift and we are there.
Let me tell you it was worth the wait to experience the feelings between the Petal and myself as the sun set in the west and darkness enveloped us, and two thousand others including the two males who I think consummate their vows as the darkness descended. I wanted to get a photo but Petal said no as the flash would be a dead giveaway.
We then left and after some time found the correct subway and the correct train. By the time we got back to Queens it was 9pm and a visit to the Chinese takeaway supplied enough food for the Brazilian Army for the prrincely sum of $13.00 and threw in a can of Coke as well. Back in the motel room and what to cap a fabulous romantic evening, Chinese and Bud.
Good night y'all.
